Yes, for security reasons, all users will need to reset their passwords on the new platform. You will receive an email with a link and instructions once the new platform is live. Please check your email's junk folder for the password reset message.

All active listings will migrate to the new platform. You’ll find them in your account under the "My Listings" section once the new platform is live.

The format and visibility of your listings will remain largely the same, but you may notice some enhancements in our new user interfaces.

We aim to minimize downtime, but there may be a brief period when the platform is unavailable. We’ll provide advance notice to ensure you’re prepared.

General

Marimekko Pre-loved is a resale marketplace where you can buy and sell second-hand and vintage Marimekko products, as part of our resale community. It is powered by a service provider called Sdev.

You are purchasing a pre-owned Marimekko product from another customer who is extending the life of their product by reselling it. You can see who you are buying from in each listing. The seller is responsible for packing and shipping the item to you. Some of the items for sale come from Marimekko or one of our verified local resellers. These items will be shipped to you directly from Marimekko or our reseller partners. 

A verified seller is a vendor who is a trusted, high-quality seller of Marimekko's used and vintage products. Verified sellers are indicated by a blue star next to the seller's name. All verified sellers have been approved by Marimekko.

We are always looking to expand our reach to invite more of our brand advocates to participate in the Marimekko Pre-loved program. To apply to become a verified reseller, send an email with the following information to prelovedservice@marimekko.com:

  • First and Last Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • VAT Number/Business ID (only applicable to businesses)
  • Shop Name (optional)
  • Website (optional)
  • Instagram (optional)
  • How many Marimekko items do you approximately sell per month? (optional)
  • Why are you interested in becoming a verified seller? (optional)
  • By submitting your information, you agree to the Terms of Use of this program.

No. The Marimekko Pre-loved service is currently not available to buyers or sellers outside of Finland, including the Åland/Ahvenanmaa areas.

Your order will be delivered to you via Posti or Marimekko Store pick-up and drop-off service and you can choose home delivery or pick up at a Posti parcel point or Marimekko Store. You will be notified by e-mail. Please ensure that you collect your parcel within 7 days to avoid it being returned.

When you receive your order, please check it carefully and make sure it is as described. If everything is in order, accept the order. If you have any concerns, please contact our Marimekko Pre-loved customer support team here within 3 days of delivery.

If your item does not ship within 6 full business days of your purchase, you have the option to cancel and receive a full refund. If your item never arrives, you will receive a full refund. For example, if an item is sold on a Thursday, the first full business day is the next day, Friday. Saturday and Sunday are not counted, then Monday-Friday are counted as the next 5 business days, after which you have the option to cancel.

If your item is damaged or in a different condition than described in the listing, you have 3 days after receiving your item to request a refund. You can do this by contacting our Marimekko Pre-loved customer service team here. We will ask you to explain the problem and send us some photos. If we verify that the item has been misrepresented, we will email you a shipping label to return the item. You will have 6 full business days to return the item, after which you will receive a full refund. Please note that we do not guarantee the condition of fragile items, as it is the seller's responsibility to pack and ship the items.

All sales are final and no returns are accepted. However, you can always relist the item for sale here. In the event that a seller has misrepresented the item you have purchased, you have 3 days after receiving the item to notify us of the problem and request a refund. For items purchased from Marimekko or selected resellers, which you will be able to see on the listings page, buyers have the right to cancel and return a purchase within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. This "cooling off" period ends 14 days after the date you received your goods. Returns in these cases should be initiated by emailing prelovedservice@marimekko.com before the end of the cooling off period.

Marimekko does not guarantee:

  • The existence, quality or authenticity of the items advertised
  • The truth or accuracy of sellers’ content or listings on the service
  • The ability of sellers to sell items through the service and ship items within required shipping windows
  • The status of fragile items upon receipt
  • However, your purchases are protected when you shop with Marimekko Pre-loved. We will refund you if your item never ships or has been misrepresented by the seller.

Value added tax (VAT) will be charged on items based on the type of item and the location of the buyer and seller.

Marimekko Pre-loved accepts all major credit cards, Klarna, and MobilePay

Marimekko Pre-loved in store pick up drop off service is a free and easy delivery method. With this service, you can now choose to pick up and drop off your Pre-loved items directly at our stores.

As a seller, please select your preferred drop off store(s) on the My Storefront page. As a buyer, select the pick up option during the checkout process and choose the store location where you would like to pick up your items. Once your items arrive, you will receive an email notification with pickup instructions.

Selling on Marimekko Pre-loved

Find your item through our search page, check the condition, add photos of the item, set your price, preview, and list your item. If you have a vintage item (from before 2000), you can add your product to be reviewed by Marimekko.

No. Currently, the Marimekko Pre-loved service is not available to sellers anywhere outside of Finland, including the areas of Åland/Ahvenanmaa.

There are two ways to find your item on the search page when you begin listing:

  • By product name: Type in the product name on the search bar.
  • By product ID: For most recent products, this can be found on the care label of the item. It’s an ID of 6 numbers, for example: 269034 or 280524.

If you still can’t find the item you’d like to sell, please contact our Marimekko Pre-loved customer service team and we’ll give you a hand.

We recommend a listing price based on data about the item, including the type of item and its original price. You're welcome to adjust this price.

We only accept items that are in good condition. For example, we do not accept items that have major rips, stains or missing/broken buttons or zippers.

If you're selling an item of clothing, make sure it's freshly laundered. Clean shoes and bags and make sure there's nothing left in pockets or bags. Write a thank-you note to your buyer to include in your package.

For fragile items, choose an appropriately sized box to prevent the contents from moving inside the package. Properly package the item for transport (use bubble wrap or paper as filler) and clearly mark the shipment with fragile stickers or tape.

Choose packaging that fits the size and shape of your item while ensuring it's well protected.

Once your item is sold, you will receive a pre-paid, pre-addressed shipping label via email for shipping. Wrap your item(s) nicely with a personalized thank you note and attach this label to your package. Drop it off at the nearest Posti Service Center.

Once your item has been sold, you will receive a 6-digit code for in-store drop-off. Please pack the items carefully in a package and seal the package securely. A bag works best for regular clothing. For fragile items, a box or carton is recommended. Write the 6-digit code on the outside of the package. Drop it off at the selected Marimekko Pre-loved store.

Once your item is sold, we will immediately email you with a shipping label or pick-up instructions. We recommend that you ship the item within 3 days of receiving this email. If you have not shipped your item within 6 full business days of receiving the label, the buyer will have the option to cancel their purchase.

You will only be paid for your item after it sells. Once the item is shipped, the buyer has 3 days to accept the item. Once this happens, we will release your earnings and you can redeem them for cash or Marimekko store credit.

If you choose Marimekko store credit, it can only be used for purchases directly from Marimekko. This store credit cannot currently be used on the Marimekko Pre-loved site.

When a buyer reports an issue with their order, we ask them to upload details and photos for their return request. Our team will carefully review the case and offer a solution. If you have misrepresented the item, for example by failing to report damage, you will not receive payment and the item will be returned to you.

If you choose to cash out for store credit, your gift card will be emailed to you immediately. If you choose to cash out, you will receive your payment within 7-8 days. Due to security measures, there is a hold period of up to 3 days and the payment is processed 2-3 business days after the hold period ends.

There is no limit on the amount a seller can cash out but gift cards cannot exceed 500€. If a seller has a balance higher than 500€ they should request multiple gift cards.

Take-back Program

Pass on the joy - bring your Marimekko pieces to us and get a gift card in return.

Bring your second-hand and vintage Marimekko items to our Helsinki Forum store, Joensuu store and Turku citycenter store and we will exchange them for a gift card that can be used in Marimekko stores and marimekko.com.

We accept all Marimekko clothing, accessories, bags, and selected homeware (see full list below). All items must be clean and in good condition. We do not accept items with major rips, stains, missing/broken buttons and zippers, or hygiene sensitive products such as socks, swimwear and underwear. We also do not accept brand collaboration products.

After the exchange, your items will be sold by Marimekko in the Pre-loved service and pop-ups.

The gift card is valid for 12 months and can be used in Marimekko stores and marimekko.com in Finland. The gift card cannot be exchanged for money.

Your items are evaluated by condition and product category. A Marimekko employee will carefully go through the items you wish to exchange and issue a gift card according to the value specified in the price and condition chart.

  • Condition A - New with tags. Original sales tag/package included.
  • Condition B - The item has been in use but is in good condition. No major rips, fading, broken seams, buttons, or zippers.
  • Condition C - The item has multiple visible signs of use, or the item has been altered.
