The Vildstjälk pattern blanket is made of organic cotton with a jacquard knit. The blanket has fringes at the ends and if features the Marimekko label. The colors are reversed on the other side of the blanket.
The product is designed by Petra Börner and it features the artist’s initials at the bottom. Petra Börner is often drawn to natural themes in her work, exploring varied techniques with a passionate line that ties her compositions together. The botanical pattern Vildstjälk is part of her ongoing POWERFLOWER series. The pattern was created through ‘print-painting’ ink and acrylic colors onto paper; an experimental process combining elements of chance and control. The title translates as wild stem, referring to freedom of movement and celebrating a courageous type of plant.
